Empowering Your Mentoring Program with Training for Mentorship

Program Description:
Critical to fostering effective mentoring in a formal organized program, program leaders have an ideal opportunity to “set the stage” for new mentees and mentors as they enter a new mentoring relationship. This interactive workshop will provide program leaders an opportunity to consider the importance of providing training to mentees and mentors regarding their respective roles and responsibilities in order to maximize the mutual benefits of this important professional relationship. Case studies will be used to explore the importance of establishing goals and expectations among all parties, and tools for encouraging effective communication between mentee, mentors and program leaders will be shared.
